Patrick lives with his wife in rural Northland, where he works from home as a self-employed accounts technician. He has been involved with the Whangarei branch of Voice for Life since 2018, and is currently branch treasurer. While Patrick has been concerned about the issue of abortion for many years, it is only in recent years that his concern has been turned into action. Like, he suspects, many Christians, he was held back either by passivity or simply not knowing what to do in the face of this evil. One of the key turning points for him was a little book about abortion called "Answering the Call", and especially its reference to Proverbs 24:10-12. Patrick wants to do everything he can to "save those stumbling toward slaughter". He has a strong desire to share this passion with the church, and to help stir up God's people to say, “let’s start rebuilding,” and to find "their hands ... strengthened to do this good work" (Nehemiah 2:18). He became a member of the VFL National Executive in 2020.
